vacation's all i ever wanted, vacation had to get away

I am heading off on vacation so you lucky people get to enjoy 2 weeks of shoes I wish I could've taken with me.

After our sojourn into the world of discounts last week I thought we'd head on over the forbidden land of luxury at Nordstrom's. Even if no one can afford any of these shoes in this economy, it turns out that drooling over them is still free.

this one's for Amy

My old friend, Amy emailed this week. Her very favorite pair of red, mary jane heels is broken and cannot be fixed. Devatastating ,no? She has requested our help in procuring a new pair. Amy, we're here for you, plus red mary janes are delightful and it will be lovely to look at them every day.

a sliver of hope

O.K., you all know that wedges are not my favorite. I just think that if I am going to wear heels, I should get to feel just a little sexy, not table and clunky. I am trying to get over my issues but for today we are taking baby steps. This week is baby step number one. Lately, I have been digging the new sliver wedges, hope you do too.

it's like they read my mind

So, according to my sources (mostly fashion mags), open-toed flats are all the rage for spring. Hurrah! I can't even describe the little skip my heart makes just thinking abpout all the pretty shoes that I don't yet own. Sigh.

unrestrained-theme of the week

It turns out, that while I have more pairs of ballet flats than any person needs, I am sorely lacking in the sandal department. As every day warms a little I am realizing tha I had best get going on that project (you know, stocking my closet appropriately) in order to be truly prepare for the delightful heat ahead.

seeing red

I am not fond of winter. Once Christmas is over, I really see no need for it. I am oh, so tired of being cold. I know that we had red week last fall but I think it's time again. It will make me feel better about the fact that winter will continue for a couple more months, even if I stare at red shoes all day.

a bad case of stripes

I just ordered a pair of striped ballet flats and they got me thinking. Stripes are kicky and young and fun and make me feel like spring is right around the corner. Welcome to stripes week.

What with all the delightful sales going on, I thought it was about time we had another discount week. Woo-hoo!

belated

OK- so I know I sort of disappeared last week. That toe surgery turned out to be a little bigger deal than I was expecting plus I had all that family and needless to say the blog fell by the wayside. Sorry. So to make it up to you we will continue the open-toed theme this week. Also this week I have decided to add a new feature to the blog. It will be labeled " what not to wear". I just see to many absolutely crazy things that people wear in public to not make snotty comments about it on my blog. Look for the new feature tomorrow. Happy New Year and have a great week!

Since the fans of this blog, though devoted, are few I still take requests and this one has been mentioned several times so here you go. This week we are admiring shoes for girls, you know, little girls. For those of you who are howling in frustration to have to spend a whole week with shoes that do not fit you, be patient, next week is party shoe week.

So while I was finding shoes for last week I was discouraged because there were so many wonderful red shoes and it was so hard to choose just seven. Then I remembered that it's my blog and I can do whatever I wan to, so we are going to continue red fo a whole extra week, just because I want can.

when you find a pair you love, buy it in two colors

Lately I have seen so many great deals that I thought we should celebrate. It's clearance week. All shoes featured are either on a great sale or a bargain to begin with. Hooray, what fun!

soccer moms, unite!

I am quickly becoming the proverbial soccer mom. I have to admit that those fabulous Jimmy Choos from yesterday would only get worn occasionally at my house because they aren't all that practical. So this week we are celebrating every day life. All the shoes this week are lovely as well as truly practical for soccer practice, preschool drop-off, grocery shopping, and all the other stuff we girls are busy doing most of our days.

There are lots of pretty colors in the fall collections and in order to make our legs look extra long and fabulous we will be wearing all those colors with nude heels. This week I will find you at least seven options to make your stems go on forever.

passion for purple-the theme

My dear friend Julie is having a tough week so, in her honor, this week will be all about purple. purple has always been a color of royalty, so it should make you feel like a princess every time you put it on. Plus, it is a huge color for fall-bonus!

T-straps are a big trend for fall and I think they are so pretty. They are lady-like and classic and many of the new styles have really great modern twists. Hooray, can't wait!

It's the start of a new week and thus, a new theme. I know that we are already 2/3 of the way through summer but I thought we'd spend the week admiring sandals. Plus, since cooler weather is on it's way they will probably all be on sale soon.
